๐Ÿœ Tan Tan Ramen first showed up in Chengdu, China in the 1800's. originating from the words "dan dan," which actually refer to the shoulder pole that was used to carry the noodle dish which started out soup-less to keep the weight down!

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ The original soup featured Chinese chili oil blended with Sichuan numbing peppers. The dish eventually spread to other parts of China, including Shanghai, where soup would be added, bringing down the intense spice level!
